Description

Anti-slip deck boards that prevent slip hazards, even when wet

Timber decking can easily develop algae and moss when it’s exposed to damp weather and rain, making it a major slip hazard if it isn’t adequately protected with anti-slip material. DeckWright anti-slip boards provide a reassuring grip to reduce the risk of injury in wet or slippery conditions.

DeckWright anti-slip strips are often used in full timber decking areas or in places of higher risk, such as steps or walkways.

Even when they’re applied to heavy-traffic areas on commercial sites, the strips don’t deteriorate over time. They provide a longer life and better performance than other anti-slip products such as abrasive paints.

There is a misconception that plastic decking provides the best anti-slip solution. This just isn’t true as plastic decks anti-slip performance when wet is significantly lower than a wooded deck with DeckWright anti-slip (and at a much lower price).

Testing and accreditation

DeckWright has been independently audited using the gold standard for slip testing in the UK, the pendulum slip test, in accordance with British Standard BS7976: 2002. This test measures dynamic coefficient of friction (CoF) by replicating a shoe heel striking a dry and wet surface.

To use the description of non-slip decking, the product must achieve a Pendulum Test Value (PTV) in excess of 35. Any score above this is considered ‘low-slip’ potential. DeckWright Boards achieved a score of 71, which is notably higher than many competitive products. The manufacturing process has also been independently QA audited and is compliant with ISO 9001:2016.
